The Joan Mitchell Foundation
The Joan Mitchell Foundation provides emergency support to US based visual artists working in the mediums of painting, sculpture, and/or drawing, who have suffered significant losses after natural or manmade disasters that have affected their community. Artists who have been negatively impacted due to catastrophic situations of this nature can apply to the Foundation for funding. Please contact the Joan Mitchell Foundation for additional information at info@joanmitchellfoundation.org.
The Foundation’s emergency funding is specific to natural or man-made disasters, and usually those that have affected a community on a broad scale. While we acknowledge the tremendous need for support following personal emergencies, we regret that the Foundation is currently unable to provide this type of emergency funding.
As part of the Foundation’s efforts to address this area we are part of a national initiative: the National Coalition for Artists Preparedness and Emergency Response. For more information on this work please visit: http://www.craftemergency.org/outreach/advocacy/national_coalition
